"When the concept for AQUAMEDICA came to me, I had been thinking of how water had influenced the philosophy behind everything at my first spa, AQUATICA SALON & DAY SPA in Shrewsbury, New Jersey," says Valentina Chistova. "With AQUAMEDICA, I wanted to expand my philosophy not only to embrace water for its cleansing properties, but also to enhance its life-giving benefits to surround and soothe and bring us back to that which is our essence."

The founder of AQUATICA SALON & DAY SPA in Shrewsbury NJ, Valentina Chistova is a world-renowned aesthetician and beauty expert whose experience encompasses all facets of skin care and body treatments. Internationally trained, educated and certified, Valentina has devoted more than twenty years to her profession. Throughout her successful career she has provided services to many celebrities, including Stacey Carter, Mrs. Globe 2001, famous socialite and entrepreneur Ivana Trump, well-known KTU radio personality Michelle Vassage and Olympic figure skating champion Galit Chait Prior to launching AQUAMEDICA, Valentina also consulted with leading dermatologists, providing skin care regimes for their patients.

Valentina is a member of the National Cosmetology Association and a CIDESCO candidate (Comite International Desthetique et de Cosmetologie Desthetique), which is the highest degree of beauty therapy certification available in the United States and worldwide. Most recently, Valentina completed a rigorous training program with the Spanish organization Wontersaf, one of the world's leading centers for trichology, capillary diagnostics and scalp and hair treatment to combat hair loss and other hair dysfunctions. Valentina also holds a Registered Nursing Degree from Kharkov State University and Cosmetology degrees from the Kharkov Medical Institute in the Ukraine and the Capri Institute of Cosmetology in New Jersey.

In addition to managing his first spa, AQUATICA SALON & DAY SPA in Shrewsbury NJ, Anatoliy, at age twenty-five, has already received a business degree from Pace University, is ten credits shy of a master's degree in financial management, and is planning to study for a pharmacy degree next.

As a busy physician, it takes something very special to gain the notice of Dr. Anthony S. Lombardi, M.D., F.A.C.S., P.C. "One evening, I was driving along and I noticed AQUATICA spa. I needed to purchase a gift for someone, and I just got the idea that a gift certificate to the spa would be a good idea, so I stopped," recalls Dr. Lombardi.

"Apparently, the spa had only been open a few days and it was fairly late in the evening, almost time when they should be closing. But when I went in, I was greeted so warmly by Anatoliy. He was so excited about the new spa that he took me on a tour of the spa and showed it off like you might show off a new home. His enthusiasm and hospitality were so apparent and so real. That was the beginning of our relationship, and now the new home we are all so proud of is AQUAMEDICA."

It is a nice change of pace from my medical practice, which includes breast augmentation and reconstruction, facial reconstruction following trauma, brow lifts, face lifts, and other cosmetic surgical procedures.

"Our guests may not expect to be treated by a physician when they visit, but as highly-qualified physicians we can treat them much more significantly and really make a big improvement. Providing cosmetic and beauty procedures in a spa setting will also encourage a whole new set of individuals who may be interested in the procedures we offer but who may not wish to be treated in a sterile hospital or hectic medical office setting. Dr. Lombardi, who is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as general surgery, performs laser rejuvenation techniques at AQUAMEDICA, including botox and other wrinkle reduction therapies, microdermabrasion, hair removal, vein removal, pigmentation reduction, and acne treatments, including laser treatments, topical and oral medications, vitamin therapy, and nutritional counseling. Dr. Lombardi is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Lombardi received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his residency in general surgery at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. He also completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He received a B.A. degree from Seton Hall University and completed medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies.

Dr. Lombardi frequently lectures on the psycho-social aspects of plastic surgery, as well as on body dismorphic disorders.

Dr. Thompson, who is board certified in general surgery as well as plastic and reconstructive surgery, performs soft tissue augmentation at AQUAMEDICA to reverse signs of aging, including botox, RestylaneT and Radiesse, in addition to other cosmetic procedures.

A graduate of Hofstra University, Dr. Thompson attended medical school at Tulane University, and then completed a surgical residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston NJ, followed by a residency in plastic surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ.

Dr. Thompson is recognized as one of New Jersey's leading trauma reconstructive surgeons. He lectures frequently to Emergency Medical Technicians on topics including facial and extremity traumas. He also speaks with bariatric support groups on different aspects of cosmetic surgery following extreme weight loss, and to local community groups on new advances in plastic and cosmetic surgery.
